About Sasakura Onsen Ryuunso

"Sasakura Onsen Ryuunso" is a standalone inn perched on a plateau at an altitude of 460 m within Myoko-Togakushi Renzan National Park in Itoigawa City, Niigata Prefecture. It draws from three private hot spring sources, "Ryuun," "Yakushi," and "Senju." The water, with bicarbonate soda as its main component, is smooth and silky, almost like beauty serum. Highly regarded as a "cleansing bath," it helps remove dead skin cells and leaves the skin feeling beautifully smooth. The two large baths, each with a different atmosphere, offer a wide variety of tubs, including wild open-air baths, panoramic baths, bottle-shaped tubs, and reclining baths. Private baths with free-flowing spring water are also available, allowing guests to fully enjoy luxurious bathing while surrounded by the great natural beauty of the mountains.

Hot SpringONSEN

Large Bath Ryuun no Yu

A large bath drawing from two private hot spring sources, "Ryuun" and "Yakushi." The water, with bicarbonate soda as its main component, is smooth and silky, almost like beauty serum. Because it helps break down dead skin cells and leaves the skin smooth, it is loved as a "cleansing bath" and a "beauty bath." Guests can enjoy the spacious indoor bath and a wild open-air bath, with men and women alternating between morning and evening.

Panoramic Bath Senju no Yu

A panoramic large bath using the "Senju no Yu" source, with expansive views of lush greenery. In addition to the indoor bath, there is an open-air area overlooking the nearby stream and the mountains of the Myoko range through the seasons, along with a selection of distinctive open-air tubs such as bottle-shaped tubs, wooden bucket baths, and reclining baths. Guests can soak to their heart's content in the fresh, beautiful water while surrounded by sweeping natural scenery.

Most of what we surveyed never even made it onto this site. This book is a further cut from what did. Our editor bathed in every onsen and sauna in it, and wrote only what they confirmed on the ground.
