Main bathhouse
A panoramic onsen bath on the third floor. Beyond the large windows Mount Myoko stretches out, and without leaving the water you can watch the mountain shift from fresh green to autumn colors to snow. The water is natural onsen piped from Seki Onsen, a sodium-calcium chloride spring. It carries red mineral flakes, and true to a chloride spring it holds its heat well, keeping you warm to the core long after bathing. Because it is recirculated and filtered, the water looks nearly colorless, but it is traditionally said to help with joint pain, muscle aches and sensitivity to cold. There is no open-air bath, only an indoor bath, one each for men and women. The women’s bath also has a shampoo bar where you can choose the shampoo you like.
