Akakura Onsen

A historic natural hot spring that gushes out naturally from the mountainside of Mount Myoko, used luxuriously as 100% free-flowing water straight from the source. Mineral-rich spring crystals drift through the water, with a subtle sulfur aroma adding to its refined appeal. Combining sulfate spring, bicarbonate spring, and sulfur spring qualities, it is a beautifying bath that helps prevent chilling after bathing and leaves the skin remarkably smooth. Bathing while gazing at the endless sea of clouds and untouched nature from the unobstructed large bath or an infinity-style open-air bath is pure bliss.

The sauna room has glass walls, allowing you to directly take in the beautiful mountain ridges of Myoko Highlands and panoramic seasonal scenery while remaining inside. There is no TV. Surrounded by the quiet of nature and beautiful views, the mild, high-quality heat gently envelops your body and leads you slowly into deep sweating.

A mist sauna available only in the women’s large bath. Soft warm mist wraps around the body, warming you gradually to the core while adding moisture to the skin and hair. Even those who do not enjoy high-temperature saunas can relax without feeling short of breath, soothed by a pleasant, aroma-like gentle humidity that provides a private and comforting space for both body and mind.

A compact cold plunge bath installed right in front of the dry sauna. Clean water is supplied automatically, and its defining feature is a relatively mild, gentle chill. Even those who do not like sudden cold can cool down comfortably, refreshing the overheated body after sauna use. Taking a bath in the fresh air while sitting on the chairs lined up on the terrace deck in the outdoor area is especially memorable.
