A milky-white 100% natural free-flowing hidden hot spring, said to be Uesugi Kenshin's secret bath

Niigata Myoko City

"Yunomachi Ryokan Gensen no Yu Hanabun" is a long-established hidden hot spring inn in Myoko, Niigata Prefecture. Located at an altitude of about 1,100 m on the slopes of Mt. Myoko, it stands on a hill overlooking the magnificent scenery of Otakiri Gorge. The hot spring is a rare milky-white sulfurous carbonated spring known nationwide, blending two different source springs, "Ogon no Yu" and "Kawara no Yu." It is 100% natural free-flowing spring water with no added heat, no added water, and no circulation at all. Rich mineral deposits drift gracefully through the water, gently warming the body from the core. Within a 10 to 15 minute walk from the inn, you can also find the free natural open-air baths that are a specialty of Yunomachi Onsen, allowing you to fully enjoy the true atmosphere of a hidden hot spring retreat.
