Hot Spring & Bath Information

Tokinoyu Large Bath Area Watanoyu Spring

TypeNatural Hot Spring

Flow-through

Among the many hot spring sources in Kusatsu Onsen, this is a highly rare Watanoyu Spring, with a limited yield and supplied only to a small number of inns. Here, guests can enjoy it 100% free-flowing at the large bath area. As its name suggests, it has a soft, supple texture that clings gently to the skin, like raw silk. From the rugged rock open-air bath and the ancient Japanese cypress bath scented with hinoki, to the plain bath and waterfall bath, guests can fully savor the appeal of one of Japan’s most famous waters across a variety of baths.

Yujodokoro Inonoyu Yukawano-yu Spring

TypeNatural Hot Spring

Flow-through

The inn’s own Yukawano-yu Spring, enjoyed at Yujodokoro Inonoyu, a bathing area steeped in the atmosphere of Kusatsu. Although it is a powerful acidic sulfur spring with a pH of 2.3, it has a refined, pleasantly moist texture. The bathing area offers four baths: the hot bath and lukewarm bath arranged by temperature, a private barrel bath, and the silky Muso-no-yu bath with microscopic ultra-fine bubbles gently enveloping the whole body. Guests can enjoy the luxury of free-flowing spring water in a rich bathing experience.

Private Open-Air Baths Chikusa, Iwama, and Korin

TypeNatural Hot Spring

Flow-through

Three distinct private open-air baths that can be used free of charge whenever available, 24 hours a day, with no reservation required. Chikusa is a bamboo-made bath that evokes the rustling of a bamboo grove; Iwama is surrounded by dramatic rock walls and feels like a hidden hot spring retreat; and Korin is a hexagonal cypress bath where light pours in beautifully. In all three, guests can luxuriate in complete privacy with the inn’s own Yukawano-yu Spring flowing freely.

Guest Room Open-Air Bath Yukawano-yu Spring

TypeNatural Hot Spring

A private open-air bath with the inn’s own Yukawano-yu Spring, lavishly installed on the terrace of every guest room. Fresh hot spring water fills the bath whenever you press the switch provided in your room, so you can enjoy it anytime you like. In a private space where no one will disturb you, you can breathe in the clear air of the Kusatsu highlands and lose track of time while enjoying the finest bath of your own.
