Shizuoka Ito City
An Ito hot spring resort surrounded by trees, with an open-air bath and dry sauna
"Wellness no Mori Ito" is a resort hotel in Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Guests can enjoy the alkaline simple spring water of Ito Onsen, which is known for its abundant flow, in two distinct large public baths that alternate between men and women. One features an open-air bath overlooking the sky, with large and small hinoki cypress baths and a stone bath, surrounded by lush green trees and the fragrance of hinoki. The other features marble baths with a clean, refined feel, offering a quiet bathing experience along with an indoor bath. Both large public baths are equipped with dry saunas, allowing guests to sweat deeply at their own pace with breaks in between. There is also a swimsuit-required heated pool with walking lanes and a jacuzzi, a rooftop garden pool available only in summer, and complimentary treats such as ice cream after bathing and late-night soba, making this an inviting stay for families and groups to relax and enjoy.

This bath area features an open-air bath where you can soak while looking up at the sky. It includes large and small hinoki cypress baths and a stone bath, and the sensation on your skin changes each time you move from one tub to another. Surrounded by lush green trees, it is gently filled with the scent of hinoki rising with the steam. The soft feel of the alkaline simple spring water smooths the skin, and its warmth lingers long after you get out. A dry sauna is also available, letting you alternate between sweating and cooling off in the open air. Because the baths alternate between men and women, you can enjoy the other bath area during your stay as well.

A bath area surrounded by lush green plants. Its marble tubs reflect a clear, luminous sheen, with high-quality hot spring water bubbling up continuously. In this elegant setting of polished stone and a clear water surface, you can relax in the indoor bath at your own pace. The alkaline simple spring water feels smooth and silky, gliding quietly over the skin. This bath area also has a sauna, so you can spend time moving back and forth between the hot spring and the heat. Since the baths alternate between men and women, you can visit both if you come at different times.

An indoor heated pool for exercise bathing, used while wearing a swimsuit. You can loosen your body by walking slowly through the lukewarm water, and if you let yourself sink into the fine bubbles of the jacuzzi, stiff shoulders and lower back muscles gradually relax. This is not a place for vigorous swimming, but a waterside space for unwinding, where families and friends can chat and spend time together. In summer, the rooftop garden pool also opens, offering a refreshing, open-air experience under Ito’s sunshine.

A dry sauna located in each of the men’s and women’s large public baths. Its crisp, dry heat gently caresses the skin, and the longer you sit, the more deeply the warmth settles into your core. There is nothing flashy here, just a quiet room wrapped in the warmth of wood, where simply breathing steadily helps release everyday tension along with the sweat. It is closed during the late-night hours, so it feels especially pleasant to sweat either in the evening or in the clear air of the morning.
