About Minamiaso Kiyokamura

"Minamiaso Kiyokamura" is a hot spring hotel in Takamori Town, Aso District, Kumamoto Prefecture. Standing on the plateau of Aso Kujū National Park, it offers views of the ridgeline of the Aso Five Peaks from throughout the building. Its pride and joy is the open-air bath facing that sweeping panorama. There is also a tsuboyu, allowing guests to soak while gazing at the green mountainsides by day and a star-filled sky by night. The water is a natural hot spring with alkaline simple spring quality, known for its gentle feel that leaves the skin smooth. The large bath area also includes a sauna, and after working up a sweat, the crisp plateau air feels wonderful. Day-use bathing is available, so it is an ideal stop along a journey through Aso.

Separate large bath areas for men and women with views of the Aso Five Peaks straight ahead. They consist of an indoor bath and a spacious open-air bath facing the mountain range, with tsuboyu also provided in the open-air section. The spring quality is a natural hot spring with alkaline simple spring water, known for its gentle feel that leaves the skin smooth. It is also said to be good for neuralgia, muscle pain, joint pain, and sensitivity to cold. By day, you can soak while looking out at green mountainsides and the plateau breeze, and by night, at a sky full of stars, quietly easing the fatigue of travel.

A sauna attached to the large bath area. The heat gradually reaches deep into the body, slowly loosening stiff muscles. In the quiet room without flashy effects, you can simply focus on working up a sweat. It is ideal for easing the fatigue from walking in the highlands or the stiffness in your shoulders from long travel, and as you steady your breathing, your mind becomes calmer too. It can be used from daytime until late at night, so you can stop by whenever it suits you, whether before dinner or before bed.
