A hidden hot spring inn in Kurokawa, where you can be soothed by two private sources and seven baths

Kumamoto Oguni Town

Set a little way apart from Kurokawa Onsen town, Ryokan Sanga is a tranquil inn nestled deep in the forest, proud of its abundant natural surroundings spread across a 3,000-tsubo grounds and its 100% free-flowing hot spring water drawn from two private sources. Guests can enjoy two types of water, the beautifully skin-enhancing Yakushi no Yu and a chloride spring said to be beneficial for arteriosclerosis, in seven baths with distinct atmospheres, including open-air baths, indoor baths, and private baths. The guest rooms are calm Japanese-style rooms that put the seasonal scenery outside the windows center stage. There are also detached rooms with open-air baths, allowing guests to savor a luxurious private soak at their leisure. Paired with authentic kaiseki cuisine that makes the most of Aso's seasonal ingredients, it offers a blissful moment wrapped in silence.

Flow-through

One of the private hot spring sources that bubbles up on the grounds of Sanga. It is characterized by its slightly blue, transparent water, and is loved under the name Yakushi no Yu for its said benefits for cuts and skin ailments. With a gentle sulfur fragrance, the soft water is kind to the skin and helps relax both body and mind from deep within. In the atmospheric indoor and open-air baths, you can savor the purity of the spring water just as it comes from the source, together with the quiet of the forest.

Flow-through

The other private source is a Skin-Beautifying Spring rich in metasilicic acid. It combines the qualities of a chloride spring and a bicarbonate spring, leaving the skin moisturized long after bathing.
