About Kyukamura Minamiizu

"Kyukamura Minamiizu" is a hot spring resort hotel in Minamiizu Town, Kamo District, Shizuoka Prefecture. Set before Yumigahama, where white sand curves in an arc, the hotel stands embraced by the natural beauty of Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. On the third floor of the main building, the large public bath features an open-air bath facing the garden, a tsuboyu, and indoor baths, all filled with sodium-calcium chloride spring water that leaves warmth deep in the body. The time spent sinking into the hot water while listening to the sound of the sea carried from beyond the trees is one of the hallmarks of this inn. On the rooftop Shiokaze Terrace, there is a foot bath overlooking Yumigahama and the Pacific Ocean, where guests can relax under a sky full of stars at night. After bathing, you can linger over the afterglow of your trip in the lounge with an ice cream in hand, and all guest rooms face the sea. Day-use bathing is also available.

Hot SpringONSEN

Large public bath

This gender-separated large public bath is located on the third floor of the main building. It offers an open-air bath facing the garden, a tsuboyu, and indoor baths, and even moving from one tub to another changes your mood. The water is sodium-calcium chloride spring water, gently enveloping the skin while retaining heat in the body, so the warmth after bathing lasts a long time. In the open-air bath, the sound of the sea reaches you from beyond the trees, and if you close your eyes, only the sound of the waves remains. Sinking into the tsuboyu creates a quiet, private moment between you and the water's surface. With step-free access from the changing room to the bathing area, everyone can enjoy bathing comfortably.

Foot bath

A hot spring foot bath set on the rooftop Shiokaze Terrace. With a view of the white arc drawn by Yumigahama and the vast Pacific Ocean beyond it, you can leave only your feet in the water. As the sea breeze brushes your cheeks and the sound of the waves continues without pause, tired legs slowly unwind. When the sun sets, stars spread across the night sky, and the warmth of the bath and the coolness of the night breeze balance each other beautifully. Towels for wiping your feet are provided, making it easy to stop by whenever you feel like it.

Most of what we surveyed never even made it onto this site. This book is a further cut from what did. Our editor bathed in every onsen and sauna in it, and wrote only what they confirmed on the ground.
