About Kyukamura Minami-Izu

Kyukamura Minami-Izu is an onsen resort hotel in Minamiizu, Kamo District, Shizuoka Prefecture. It stands right in front of Yumigahama, a beach whose white sand curves in a wide arc, cradled by the nature of Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. The main bathhouse on the third floor of the main building has an open-air bath facing the garden, a ceramic urn bath and an indoor bath, and its sodium-calcium chloride spring leaves warmth deep in the body. Sinking into the water as the sound of the surf drifts through the trees is a moment only this inn can offer. On the rooftop Shiosai Terrace, a foot bath looks out over Yumigahama and the Pacific, and at night you can unwind beneath a sky full of stars. After bathing, you can linger over the afterglow of the journey in the lounge with an ice cream in hand, and every room faces the sea. Day bathing is also available.

Main bathhouse

Separate main bathhouses for men and women on the third floor of the main building. With an open-air bath facing the garden, a ceramic urn bath and an indoor bath, simply making your way around the tubs shifts your mood. The water is a sodium-calcium chloride spring that wraps the skin softly while storing heat in the body, so the warmth lasts long after you step out. In the open-air bath the sound of the surf reaches you through the trees, and when you close your eyes only the waves remain. Sink into the urn bath and a quiet moment opens up, just you and the surface of the water. With no steps from the changing room to the bathing area, anyone can enjoy bathing without strain.

Foot bath

An onsen foot bath on the rooftop Shiosai Terrace. You give only your feet to the water while gazing at the white arc of Yumigahama and the Pacific stretching beyond it. The sea breeze brushes your cheeks, the waves never stop, and legs tired from walking slowly loosen. Once the sun sets, stars fill the night sky, and the warmth of the water balances pleasantly against the cool night air. Towels for drying your feet are provided, so you can drop by whenever the mood takes you.
