About Kumakogen Takeno Kaigan

"Kumakogen Takeno Kaigan" is a seaside resort hotel in Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture. It stands on a hill about 70 meters above sea level overlooking a beautiful inlet in Sanin Kaigan National Park, and features natural hot spring water from its own source. From the large public bath, which includes an indoor bath, an open-air bath, and a sauna, guests can take in sweeping views of the Nezaki Peninsula at the northernmost tip of Hyogo Prefecture and the vast Sea of Japan. On summer and autumn nights, fishing fires glow offshore. The smooth water of the calcium-sodium chloride and sulfate spring gently envelops a body chilled by the sea breeze. The property also has a dining area serving seafood from the Sea of Japan, a terrace where the sea breeze passes through, and a campground, and it also accepts day-use bathing.

Hot SpringONSEN

Large public bath

This gender-segregated large public bath lets you enjoy natural hot spring water from its own source in both an indoor bath and an open-air bath. The spring quality is calcium-sodium chloride and sulfate spring (hypotonic, mildly alkaline, low-temperature spring), and its smooth feel helps unwind travel fatigue. If you sink into the open-air bath, the beautiful inlet and the Nezaki Peninsula at the northernmost tip of Hyogo Prefecture spread out before you, and on summer and autumn nights fishing fires glow offshore. It is said to be effective for cuts, sensitivity to cold, and dry skin, and the water leaves warmth deep in the body.

Men'sWomen's

A sauna located in one corner of the large public bath, which also has an indoor bath and an open-air bath. In the quiet atmosphere of an inn perched on a seaside hill, you can savor the time itself as you sit and wait for the sweat to come. Even a body exposed to the sea breeze slowly warms through to the core as you sit and relax. If you are staying overnight, you can use it twice, once at night and again early in the morning, making it a true luxury of a stay-type inn to be able to warm your body at your own pace without feeling rushed.

Most of what we surveyed never even made it onto this site. This book is a further cut from what did. Our editor bathed in every onsen and sauna in it, and wrote only what they confirmed on the ground.
