Hiuchinada Onsen, drawn from the source of Hondani Onsen, one of the Three Onsen of Iyo alongside Dogo and Nibukawa. This alkaline water, a hypotonic alkaline cold mineral spring, has long been cherished as a “bath of beauty” and wraps the skin in smoothness. From the indoor bath with its large glass windows, the Seto Inland Sea spreads out before you, with Mount Ishizuchi hazy in the distance. The open-air baths differ between the men’s and women’s sides: the men’s side looks toward the Ishizuchi range and Kawarazu Beach at its foot, the women’s side toward the islands floating on the Seto Inland Sea. The water is also said to be effective for joint pain, neuralgia and fatigue, and an early-morning soak while gazing at the islands is something special.
