About Tofuya Resort & Spa-Izu
"Tofuya Resort & Spa-Izu" is a hot spring ryokan in Izu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Spread across about 36,000 tsubo of expansive grounds, it features buildings evoking the Taisho era, a bakery with foot baths, and beautiful gardens dotted throughout the property. It draws water from Yushima Onsen, known as the oldest famous hot spring in Izu, discovered in the Nara period, and has long been cherished as a bath believed to bring blessings for children. The colorless, clear, and smooth alkaline water is known for its gentle, skin-gliding texture. In addition to rustic open-air baths and indoor baths with distinct atmospheres, the property also offers private baths and in-room open-air baths where you can relax in a secluded setting, allowing you to fully enjoy this famed spring while taking in the changing seasons and the murmuring of the river.

Open-Air Bath "Gyoki no Yu"
A gender-swapping open-air bath where you can enjoy Izu's oldest famous hot spring in a rustic rock bath. Water pours abundantly over the naturally shaped rock surface, and you can feel the murmuring of the nearby Yushina River and the rustling of the trees up close. In this open, roofless space, you can spend a blissful time immersed in the gentle alkaline water, with soft sunlight filtering through the trees during the day and a clear starry sky overhead at night.
Open-Air Bath "Kajika no Yu"
A gender-swapping open-air bath featuring a beautiful cypress frame around an Izu stone tub. The elegantly designed bath is filled to the brim with colorless, clear Yushina Onsen, and the contrasting textures of stone and wood create a pleasing harmony. The refreshing air that makes you want to take a deep breath, along with the smooth, silky feel of the water, envelops your entire body, offering a deep sense of relaxation as if you are becoming one with the rich natural surroundings.
Indoor Bath "Taki no Yu"
An indoor bath for men only, notable for its imposing large stones and rock decorations. It is designed as a calm, comfortable space where guests can leisurely enjoy the famous spring in any weather or season. The indoor setting provides a reassuring sense of comfort amid the steam, and at night there is a fantastical lighting effect that illuminates the rock surfaces with spotlights. Washing stations are also available indoors, so you can warm up and refresh yourself without hesitation even in cold weather.
Indoor Bath "Seseragi no Yu"
An indoor bath for women only, where you can enjoy the gentle waters of Yushina Onsen in a spacious setting. The tub, decorated with dynamic rock motifs, is generously filled with this famous spring, long known as a healing bath for blessings with children. There is a protected, cozy feeling unique to an indoor steam-filled space, allowing you to slowly moisturize your skin. A convenient washing area is also available, making this a comfortable bathing area from preparation to after-bath relaxation.
Private Bath "Kodakara no Yu"
An exclusive private open-air bath for staying guests, named after the "sacred bath for children" associated with an anecdote about Tokugawa Ieyasu's concubine, Oman no Kata. Quietly tucked away behind the entrance building, it offers a relaxing hot spring experience in an atmospheric, roofed space. Together with family or someone special, you can enjoy a blissful time of relaxation undisturbed by anyone.
Private Bath "Ban no Yu"
Located in the West Wing, this private semi-open-air bath is suited for 1 to 2 guests and offers a highly intimate atmosphere. Though compact, it opens into a calm and quiet space where you can enjoy the gentle texture of Yushina Onsen privately with someone important to you. While feeling the pleasant outdoor air, you can spend a high-quality, personal time of relaxation.
In-Room Open-Air Bath
Open-air and semi-open-air baths installed in detached rooms along the clear stream and in Japanese-Western rooms.
