Overnight Stay at Osaka's Famous Sauna
📅December 26, 202518:00
Alright, let's go to Kumamoto. I decided this on December 26th, during my last workday of the year.
I finished work at 3:30 PM. Given it's the end of the year, I'm concerned about the availability of bullet trains and hotels. Checking the bullet train reservations on my computer, it seems there are a few seats available. However, I live in Tokushima Prefecture. Considering the number of bullet trains, it's better to board from Shin-Osaka Station. It takes about 2 to 2.5 hours from my home to Shin-Osaka. If I leave home at 4 PM, I'll arrive at Shin-Osaka by 6:30 PM, and from there, it takes 3 hours to Kumamoto...
There's no point in overthinking, so I decided to get in the car. Driving towards the Kansai area, I plan my trip inside the car. If I go to Kumamoto today, even with an optimistic estimate, I'll arrive around 10 PM. What can I do at that time? I always go to bed between 10 and 11 PM, so staying up late might lead to sleep deprivation. In a sleep-deprived state, it's difficult to fully enjoy the sauna. If it's just arriving and staying overnight, there's no point in going to Kumamoto today. I decided it would be better to stay in Osaka city tonight, move to Kumamoto early the next morning, and fully enjoy the sauna. So, I decided to stay in Osaka tonight.
Around 6 PM, I parked my car near JR Nishinomiya Station and decided to book a hotel for tonight. I've already chosen the hotel. It has a sauna facility I've always wanted to visit. It's the "Hotel Hanshin Osaka Hanshin Sauna." There were vacancies, so I booked immediately and headed there. It's a 15-minute walk from JR Osaka Station. I could see the large hotel building. Passing through the luxurious lobby, I checked in. The guest room is on the 17th floor. Entering the room, I could enjoy a panoramic view of Osaka city's nightscape through the large window. It was fortunate to find such a nice room available despite the sudden reservation.
Now, heading to the long-awaited Hanshin Sauna. Taking the elevator to the dedicated floor, I see the entrance. Guests can use it for 800 yen. I paid the fee and headed to the locker room. The lockers also have a luxurious feel, and there are few people. The luxurious atmosphere enhances the special feeling. I hydrated at the water server near the entrance and entered the large bath. Right from the entrance, I could see the beautiful sauna room with large glass windows. The spacious area with a high ceiling has an indoor bath with natural hot springs, a bubble bath, and a cold plunge bath, and in the open-air area, there are a rock bath and two chairs for outdoor air bathing. It's not a large facility, but the compact layout is comfortable.
I cleansed myself and immersed in the natural hot spring called "Tokujiro no Yu." The gentle touch of the hot spring made me feel like the fatigue of the year was melting away. After warming my body for a while, I entered the sauna room. The slightly dry air was a concern, but I gradually warmed my body. The pleasant scent of wood and the heat enveloped me, and sweat poured out from every pore. There is a TV in the sauna room, but the volume is low, making it enjoyable for both those who want to watch TV and those who want to meditate deeply.
After the sauna, I headed to the cold plunge bath. I submerged myself in the deep cold plunge bath that can fit about three people. The water temperature is an ideal 15°C. With few people around, I could stretch my body and relax fully. After the cold plunge bath, I moved to outdoor air bathing. Feeling the air of Osaka, I reflected on the past year. This year, I was able to visit many facilities. From around August, I started traveling to facilities nationwide in earnest, dedicating my available time and money to sauna trips. I visited places I had never been to almost every week, and I feel like my life experience has deepened. Thoroughly enjoying what you love. I realized once again that this is the most important thing for creating a happy life. In the end, those who create good memories win. In that sense, 2025 was a perfect year.
Immersed in self-satisfaction, I did outdoor air bathing, soaked in the natural hot spring, and entered the sauna again. I repeated this loop five times. Sauna → Cold plunge bath → Outdoor air bathing. This loop saved me again this year. Thank you. I finished today's sauna in a state of perfect relaxation and returned to my hotel room. Afterward, I will sleep soundly and head to Kumamoto on the 7 AM bullet train tomorrow morning. Finally, I will visit the western sanctuary "Yurax."

Natural Hot Spring
The water feels light on the skin and provides a gentle warmth over a long soak. When you bathe in the open air with the wind on your face, tension melts away as if the weight is lifted from your shoulders. Using it after the sauna helps maintain warmth and leaves a gentle sense of relaxation.
🔥High-Temperature Dry Sauna
Dry SaunaConvection Stove (Sauna Stone)15people
Centered around a convection stove with stacked stones, the two-tiered seating allows for adjusting the intensity of the heat. With quiet TV sound and subdued lighting, you can focus on sweating. The proximity to the cold plunge bath and both outdoor and indoor relaxation areas makes it easy to complete a set even in a short time.
Tap Water35people
A compact low-temperature bath located right outside the sauna. As you quietly submerge, the heat from your body dissipates quickly, and your pulse stabilizes rapidly. When combined with the open-air relaxation area, the 'contrast' is striking, allowing for a deep cooldown even amidst the city's hustle and bustle.
