Gifu Takayama City

Stay in Okuhida Onsengo

A collective name for five onsen areas nestled in the embrace of the Northern Alps in Takayama, Gifu Prefecture. Hirayu, Fukuji, Shin-Hirayu, Tochio, and Shin-Hotaka are scattered along the valley, each with its own distinct water and scenery. It is one of the country’s leading destinations for open-air baths, and thanks to its high-elevation setting, many baths offer views of the Hotaka mountain ridgeline. In winter, it is well known as a place to enjoy baths while admiring the snow.
