Hokkaido Shari Town
An onsen town facing the Sea of Okhotsk in Shari Town, Hokkaido, at the gateway to the Shiretoko Peninsula. Inns grew up here as a base for visiting Shiretoko, which is registered as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site. The slightly brownish chloride spring keeps your body warm for a long time. In summer there are the Shiretoko Five Lakes and sightseeing cruises; in winter, drift ice. Different natural scenery awaits in every season. Fresh seafood brought in at the port is also part of the pleasure of staying here.
