About MACHI:SAUNA HIROSHIMA

"MACHI:SAUNA HIROSHIMA" is a reservation-only sauna facility for mixed-gender use in Teppochō, Naka Ward, Hiroshima City. Located in the heart of Hiroshima, it features a hybrid sauna room equipped with both a rare wood-burning stove and an electric stove, as well as a refreshing cold bath with a depth of about 90 centimeters. It offers a mixed-gender bathing style worn in swimwear, and includes an outdoor relaxation area surrounded by open skies and greenery, making it a hidden urban retreat where you can enjoy a totonou experience away from everyday life.

Wood-burning and Electric Hybrid Sauna

Even though it sits in the center of the city, this is a hybrid sauna that combines a wood-burning stove and an electric stove, something extremely rare in Hiroshima. The spacious, dark, and calming room, finished mainly in black, blends the soft, powerful radiant heat unique to wood with the steady warmth of the electric stove. You can also enjoy aroma self-löyly whenever you like, making for a luxurious sweating session where you are slowly enveloped in steam from the feet up. (*The wood-burning stove operates from the evening onward.)

01COLD BATH

Cold Bath

This cold bath is located right outside the sauna room and has a depth of about 90 centimeters. Kept at a brisk temperature of around 16°C by a chiller, the icy water cools your body thoroughly all the way to the shoulders. Binchotan charcoal is submerged in the tub, making the water even smoother. There is a shower for rinsing off sweat directly in front of it, allowing you to move seamlessly into a perfect, refreshing cool-down.
