NaturalHotSpringMitsumine

Source-fed natural hot spring and authentic löyly sauna in a Japanese-style setting

Gifu Kani City

Natural Hot Spring Mitsumine in Kani, Gifu is a day-use bathing facility with the atmosphere of a Japanese-style ryokan. The baths, both outdoor and indoor, offer a soft feel thanks to an alkaline simple hot spring drawn from the source, and provide a relaxing space overlooking the garden. The sauna area consists of two types, löyly Forest and a far-infrared high-temperature sauna, and the cold plunge baths use natural groundwater. The facility is designed for a proper cooldown after the sauna. There is also a sand-salt bath, a restaurant and resting areas, so you can lose track of time and fully relax.

Hot Spring & Bath Information

Tateyama no Yu

TypeNatural Hot Spring

Flow-through
Tateyama no Yu 1

At Mitsumine you can enjoy an alkaline simple hot spring noted for its soft touch. The water feels smooth on the skin and is known as a 'beauty bath' that leaves skin supple after bathing. The source is drawn into both outdoor and indoor baths, allowing you to soak while viewing the garden and enjoy an open, liberating feeling. It is expected to promote circulation and aid recovery from fatigue, providing a healing time wrapped in natural warmth.

Ontake no Yu

TypeNatural Hot Spring

Ontake no Yu 1

An indoor cypress-lined hot spring bathtub. The smooth alkaline simple spring envelops the body along with the scent of hinoki cypress. On the 25th and 26th of each month, special bath events are held.

Hakusan no Yu

TypeNatural Hot Spring

Hakusan no Yu 1

An outdoor private bath styled using a large ceramic jar as the bathtub. It has sufficient capacity to comfortably submerge the shoulders, allowing you to fully enjoy the beauty benefits of the alkaline spring in a private space.

Unkai no Yu (Silk Bath, Rock Bath)

TypeSpecialty Bath

Unkai no Yu (Silk Bath, Rock Bath) 1

The silk bath, also called 'Kinu no Yu', is filled with ultra-fine bubbles of about 3 microns that turn the tub milky white. These fine bubbles can enter deep into pores to adsorb impurities for skin-beautifying effects, and an ultrasonic-like effect helps warm the body from the core. A jet bath is also installed in the center, so you can loosen your whole body with a double stimulus.

Deep Forest Bubble Spring

TypeSpecialty Bath

Deep Forest Bubble Spring 1

A standing jacuzzi-style bath in a ceramic tub where bubbles envelop the whole body and burst. The bursting bubbles generate negative ions and are said to have a restorative effect comparable to forest bathing. It is expected to promote circulation, relieve fatigue and improve skin, and because the warmth after bathing persists, you can continue to enjoy the open-air feeling of the outdoors.

High-concentration carbonated spring (Ramune-yu, electric bath)

TypeSpecialty Bath

High-concentration carbonated spring (Ramune-yu, electric bath) 1

A high-concentration carbonated spring bathtub known as 'Ramune-yu' in which plenty of carbon dioxide is dissolved. Carbon dioxide absorbed through the skin promotes circulation, and the mildly acidic water is expected to boost skin metabolism and help prevent aging. The tub is also equipped with an electric bath function, allowing you to experience a tingling electric stimulation that loosens muscles.

A relatively deep cold plunge bath in the outdoor area. It uses natural groundwater and is characterized by a soft water quality. Immersing your whole body up to the shoulders quickly cools the heat and creates a floating sensation that clears your head. Its prime location right next to the löyly Forest sauna makes it ideal for cooldowns immediately after a powerful auto-löyly blast. The surrounding greenery also connects naturally to outdoor air baths.
