About Skyspa YOKOHAMA

Skyspa YOKOHAMA in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, is an urban spa facility located on the 14th floor of the Sky Building directly connected to Yokohama Station. The facility features an authentic löyly sauna built with Kelo and abachi woods, a high-temperature sauna heated by an IKI stove, and a Sauna Theater for meditation and yoga. The cold plunge bath is a clear, roughly 15°C pool with amethyst at the inlet, offering a gentle way to cool the body. The artificial hot spring called Hinoki Calcium Onsen wraps visitors in a calcium carbonate bath for deep relaxation. In addition to gender-segregated bathing areas, a capsule hotel is attached, making it popular as a stay-type spa.

Hot SpringONSEN

Hinoki Calcium Onsen (artificial hot spring)

An artificially created onsen bath that utilizes a high-concentration calcium carbonate bathing agent derived from Futamata Onsen in Hokkaido. The bath contains hot spring precipitates (yunohana) as deposits and the bathing agent comprises 95.75% calcium carbonate ions, aiming to promote blood circulation, improve skin condition, and help with sensitivity to cold. This is a reproduced bathing-agent type artificial onsen, not one using a natural source.

Main BathSauna

Main Sauna

An authentic Finnish-style sauna using kelo, the standing-dead wood from Finland, on the walls and low-thermal-conductivity abachi wood for bench backs. The room temperature is kept uniformly around 90°C, and the mellow heat characteristic of kelo spreads gently so the sensation is enveloping rather than sharply stimulating. Automatic löyly is applied every 20 minutes to maintain moderate humidity, and authentic aufguss led by staff is held daily. Minerals and negative ions released from rock salt deepen relaxation, allowing long, unhurried sessions of sweating while enjoying views of Yokohama.

02SAUNA

löyly Sauna

Men's

A sauna room dedicated to self-löyly using IKI's MONOLITH stove with Finnish olivine stones. Hinoki (Japanese cypress) is used for the walls and benches, letting you control the amount of steam at your own pace while wrapped in the warmth of wood. With each application of löyly the humidity rises and you feel sweat gradually appear on the skin. Whereas the Main Sauna is a pro-led performance, this room offers a user-driven sweating experience favored by regulars.

Finnish-style Dry Sauna

A uniquely designed sauna combining two stoves (Twin tower) with a BonaSerm-style sauna module and Thermale hot-water pipes to deliver heat evenly from four directions. Set at a mid-temperature with about 25% humidity, it provides a gentle warmth that envelopes the body without causing breathlessness.

04SAUNA

Steam Sauna - Thermale -

Women's

A steam sauna using European-imported tiles that warms the entire room evenly by radiant heat from floor and wall heating. Temperature, lighting, aroma, and the sound of a fountain combine to engage all five senses, promoting slow, thorough detoxification in the steam. Salt is provided for self-massage, which is a distinctive feature and can help leave skin feeling smooth.

Main BathCold Bath

01COLD BATH

Cold Bath 1

Men's

Designed for alternating hot-and-cold bathing after sauna sessions, the cold plunge bath is kept at approximately 15°C. The temperature is delicately balanced so it is not too cold, comfortably cooling an overheated body. It helps tighten pores opened by the sauna and gently settles the afterglow of heat.

02COLD BATH

Cold Bath 2

Women's

An indoor cold plunge bath with an amethyst installed at the water inlet, which is said to purify the water. It is set about 2°C warmer than the men's bath at 17°C, making it comfortable for longer, slower soaks. The water feels clean on the skin and is easy to use repeatedly; with each round trip between sauna and bath, the feeling of lightness increases. After the cold plunge bath, you can spend your totonou (state of perfect relaxation) time in a relaxation area equipped with warm beds and reclining chairs while enjoying views of Yokohama.

Co-edSauna

01SAUNA

Sauna Theater

A large-space, program-style sauna in the low-to-mid temperature range. It offers aufguss, meditation, and yoga, and uses performance elements of sound, light, and wind to regulate body temperature and breathing. Overlooking Yokohama's scenery, it guides participants toward a gentle totonou.
