About Mizunoto
Mizunoto is an onsen inn in Kowakudani, Hakone-machi, Ashigarashimo-gun, Kanagawa Prefecture. It draws water from two sources, Kowakudani Onsen and Miyanoshita Onsen, both counted among Hakone’s Seventeen Hot Springs, and guests can enjoy a tour of the baths in two main bathhouses, each with its own distinct atmosphere. Three private open-air baths are scattered through the lush garden and are free to use, offering a peaceful escape where you can listen to the stream without interruption. One of the main bathhouses also has a sauna, making for an evening spent moving between the baths and the heat. The sounds of water surround you throughout the inn, from the suikinkutsu water chime by the entrance to the stream flowing through the lobby. Milk after bathing and late-night soba noodles are also offered.

Main Bathhouse
The main bathhouses each draw water from one of two sources: Kowakudani Onsen and Miyanoshita Onsen, both counted among Hakone’s Seventeen Hot Springs. The baths include open-air baths surrounded by rock or hinoki, as well as reclining baths, stone baths, and seated baths, each with a different atmosphere. The men’s and women’s baths switch morning and evening, so you can enjoy a variety of bathing experiences during your stay. The water is a sodium chloride spring, with a gentle feel that leaves a lasting warmth on your skin after you get out. In the open-air baths, reflections of greenery, the breeze through the trees, and the sound of the stream help you let go.
Private Bath
Free private open-air baths are scattered along the garden paths. No reservation is needed: if one is available, simply lock the door from inside and enjoy the bath on your own. Each is surrounded by different woodland scenery, with only the stream and rustling leaves to be heard. You can enjoy bathing and forest bathing together in a special moment, without worrying about anyone else.
Guest Room Open-Air Bath
Some guest rooms have a hinoki open-air bath on the terrace. Filled with natural onsen water, it lets you slip into the bath whenever you like, without worrying about the time or being seen. Bathing amid the scent of hinoki and Hakone’s clear air, with greenery all around, is a pleasure in itself. At night, gaze at the water in the quiet and slowly savor the lingering feeling of your trip.
