About Shibuya SAUNAS

"Shibuya SAUNAS" is an urban sauna facility in Sakuragaokacho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo. Both men and women can enjoy the west-side "WOODS" and east-side "LÄMPI" areas on a daily rotating basis. As the Finnish room names suggest, its defining feature is a carefully designed space inspired by forests and ponds. It offers a wide range of sauna rooms where you can experience self löyly and authentic aufguss, with no compromise on aroma or sound. After cooling down in the deep cold plunge baths, among the deepest in the Kanto region, and the reclinable cold plunge bath, you are led into a state of deep relaxation in an open-air rest area that feels nothing like the middle of a city. With a workspace and restaurant also on site, you can spend a blissful day here from morning to night.

A sauna room inspired by a Japanese tea room, filled with silence and calm. Sitting cross-legged on the wooden platform and gathering around the sauna stove, you can spend a meditative time in which you carefully face yourself. In this space with a Japanese aesthetic, you can release both body and mind from tension while wrapped in gentle heat.

A botanical sauna room lavishly covered inside with vihta, a bundle of young birch branches and leaves. The moment you step inside, a soft plant-like fragrance spreads, as if you were in the forest. It is a space where you can enjoy pleasant sweating and deep relaxation while feeling the breath of nature.

A highly unusual sauna room, unified in a refined gray tone and styled with great sophistication. Equipped with auto löyly, it periodically fills the room with steam and warms the space evenly. In a quiet, relaxed atmosphere, you can take your time and work up a comfortable sweat.

Equipped with a carefully crafted sound system jointly developed by musician Kengo Kusashi and WHITELIGHT. Calculated, crystal-clear music fills the entire space, creating a new kind of sauna experience where auditory stimulation and heat become one. A dark, serene THE Finnish sauna with lighting kept to an absolute minimum. Self löyly is available, so you can pour water on the sauna stones at your own pace and enjoy the rising steam and heat. By cutting off visual information, this is a space where you can focus purely on heat and yourself.

A sauna room where you can stretch out your whole body and lie down as if on a bed. Auto löyly periodically creates pleasant steam, warming you evenly from your toes to the top of your head. Lying down releases tension throughout your body, allowing you to experience unprecedented deep relaxation and sweating.

A sauna room lavishly built with highly prized kelo wood imported directly from Finland. In the corresponding sauna room, with private use during treatments, you can be soothed by the rich scent of wood and gentle heat. A special treatment incorporating plant therapy gently brings body and mind into a state of totonou.

Cold plunge bath

It features two types of cold plunge baths: "SYVÄ", which is among the deepest in the Kanto region and deep enough to submerge you completely up to your head, and "MATALA", which has a partition and lets you lie down in a private space of your own. You can use them as you like depending on your mood, whether that means quickly tightening your body after the sauna or calmly cooling down while letting yourself float in the water.
