"Yuya Suizen -Luxury Sauna & Spa-" is a Japanese modern sauna facility located in historic Suizenji in Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture, inside Hotel Matsuya Bekkan. In the luxurious sauna room, built entirely of cypress, you can enjoy self-löyly on the sauna stones, while the rich scent of cypress and gentle waves of heat wrap your entire body in comfort. For cooling down after the sauna, the cold plunge bath uses an indulgent amount of underground water from Aso, something Kumamoto takes pride in. In addition to the smooth, mellow feel of this famous water, the men's bath also offers a service that lets you add ice, so you can enjoy the level of chill you like best. Together with a rest on the quiet outdoor-air bath terrace overlooking the stone garden, it offers a refined moment that helps you forget the bustle of the city.
A sauna room full of Japanese atmosphere, lavishly finished entirely in cypress. It is equipped with an authentic convective stove, and self-löyly lets you create the humidity and heat level you prefer. The scent of cypress and gentle heat circulation warm you comfortably all the way to your core. The chic, clean space with subdued lighting is ideal for a meditative sauna time in which you can deeply face yourself.
A cold plunge bath that generously uses clear underground water from the foot of Mt. Aso. This high-quality groundwater, unique to Kumamoto, is characterized by its mellow texture that seems to cling to the skin. With a stable water temperature set at around 18°C, it gently yet firmly refreshes and tightens the body. The men's bath also has a unique service that lets you add ice yourself to fine-tune the chill, so you can fully enjoy the freshness and coldness of the water.
