About Hotel Beniya

"Hotel Beniya" is a long-established hotel in Kamisuwa Onsen, standing on the shores of Lake Suwa in Suwa City, Nagano Prefecture. On the top floor of the main building, the 14th floor, there is Koku no Yu, a hot spring observation bath with a panoramic view of the beautiful scenery of Lake Suwa, and the authentic dry sauna installed beside it has been hugely popular with sauna enthusiasts for its heat well above 100 degrees. Right next to it is a deep, cold cold plunge bath kept at around 15 degrees, where you can enjoy an exceptional indoor totonou experience while looking out over Lake Suwa. In the annex, there is also the mist sauna Jusekisen, which uses geothermal heat, as well as three luxurious private hot spring baths with different atmospheres.

Hot SpringONSEN

Kamisuwa Onsen

Kamisuwa Onsen is a historic and renowned hot spring famous for its abundant flow of water. Its spring quality is a simple hot spring with low alkalinity and mild hypotonicity at high temperature, and its defining feature is its soft feel that gently smooths the skin. The view from the large bath on the 14th floor, where you can soak while gazing through the large windows at the expansive scenery of Lake Suwa, is exceptional, and you can also enjoy luxurious hot spring hopping in the large bath of the annex and in the atmospheric open-air baths.

Mist Sauna Jusekisen

Men'sWomen's

A gentle mist sauna installed in the annex Kiseki no I, making use of geothermal heat. Its mild temperature is designed to be easy on the body, and the hot spring mist drifting through the air slowly moisturizes the skin, throat, and hair while comfortably encouraging perspiration. It is highly recommended for sauna beginners and for those who find dry sauna heat too intense.

Most of what we surveyed never even made it onto this site. This book is a further cut from what did. Our editor bathed in every onsen and sauna in it, and wrote only what they confirmed on the ground.
