About Oedo Onsen Monogatari Premium Seiunkaku
Oedo Onsen Monogatari Premium Seiunkaku is an onsen inn on high ground in Awara, Fukui Prefecture. Its superb location overlooks the whole of the Awara Onsen town, and its sense of openness is a large part of its appeal. The main bathhouse is floored with tatami, gentle underfoot and less slippery, so you can bathe with peace of mind. The natural onsen water, rising from underground, is a sodium chloride spring that retains heat and moisture well, and the warmth lasts long after you leave the bath. The sauna is a high-temperature dry sauna with properly strong heat, a quiet place to refresh. With a crisply cold plunge and a space for cooling off in the open air in the hilltop breeze, it promises a first-rate experience of totonou, that state of deep relaxation. Inside there are also a post-bath lounge and a kids’ park, so families can stay in comfort too.

The main bathhouse has an indoor bath floored with tatami, gentle underfoot, and an open-air bath in a lush garden. Awara Onsen’s sodium chloride spring retains moisture well, and a glowing warmth lingers long after you leave the bath. With a variety of baths, including a reclining bath and an ultrasonic bath, you can soak to your heart’s content.

In a high-temperature dry sauna full of properly strong heat, you sweat at an unhurried pace, wrapped in the scent of wood. The calm, quiet surroundings keep the fatigue of everyday life at bay and lead you into a deep, relaxing spell. Still in that afterglow, you step into the cold plunge of tap water right beside it. The cold pulls your flushed body taut, and a crisp, pleasant cool-down follows.

Guests with tattoos, imitation tattoo stickers, body paint or similar may not use the main bathhouse. However, tattoos small enough to be completely covered by two 10 cm x 14 cm (about 4 x 5.5 in) cover stickers are allowed in the main bathhouse, on condition that you wear the designated cover stickers. Cover stickers are sold at the front desk for 220 yen each (tax included).
