About Kyukamura Echizen Mikuni

"Kyukamura Echizen Mikuni" is a resort hotel in Sakai City, Fukui Prefecture. Standing on a hill in the Echizen-Kaga Coast Quasi-National Park, all guest rooms face the Sea of Japan. The baths feature natural hot spring water from a sodium-calcium chloride spring, with an indoor bath overlooking the sea through large glass windows and a garden open-air bath where the ocean feels almost within reach. Bathing while listening to the sound of the waves is a time you can experience only here. The post-bath area has massage chairs and comics, while the hotel also offers a restaurant serving Echizen seafood and a shop. In front of the building, there is a vast lawn plaza and a promenade leading to the sea, making it a base for sightseeing at Tojinbo as well. Day-use bathing is also available.

Hot SpringONSEN

Large public bath

A natural hot spring from a sodium-calcium chloride spring that gushes from a hill facing the Sea of Japan. The indoor bath has a large glass wall opening toward the ocean, letting you gaze at the horizon while soaking in the water. The garden open-air bath sits close to the sea, where you can relax and soak while listening to the sound of the waves. The salt content characteristic of a chloride spring gently wraps your skin, and the warmth lingers deep in your body long after you leave the bath. It is said to be beneficial for poor circulation, muscle soreness, and beautiful skin, and it slowly eases away the chill brought on by the Echizen sea breeze.

Most of what we surveyed never even made it onto this site. This book is a further cut from what did. Our editor bathed in every onsen and sauna in it, and wrote only what they confirmed on the ground.
