About Sanage Onsen Kinsenkaku, a Healing Inn

A hidden hot spring inn tucked away at the foot of sacred Mount Sanage, known as the inner retreat of Nagoya. It offers an extremely rare 100% natural radon hot spring, a simple weak radioactive cold mineral spring, which gushes forth in only 7% of hot springs in Japan. It is the first in Aichi Prefecture to receive permission to serve drinking hot spring water, making it a versatile therapeutic spring that you can drink, breathe in, and bathe in. Guests can fully enjoy the famous waters in the three premium private open-air baths at Hoshimi-no-Yu, including the cypress observation bath on the top fifth floor and the bubbling bath, and overnight guests can also use the adjacent day-use facility Kinsen no Yu free of charge, which features a sauna, a cold plunge bath, and a dynamic rock bath.

Hot SpringONSEN

Large Public Bath Sanage Onsen

Located on the top fifth floor of Kinsenkaku, this large public bath observatory bath, Seijaku-no-Yu and Komorebi-no-Yu, overlooks the rich natural scenery at the foot of sacred Mount Sanage. It uses an extremely rare 100% natural radon source spring, a simple weak radioactive cold mineral spring, which was the first in Aichi Prefecture to receive permission to be served as drinking water. It is beloved as the miracle bath that activates cells and enhances the body’s natural healing power. The bath tubs are made lavishly of cypress, and you can enjoy an exquisite forest bath together with the pure breeze passing through the wood. A drinking spring station is also available in the first-floor lobby.

Private Open-Air Bath Hoshimi-no-Yu

These three private open-air baths, Hoshimi-no-Yu, Gemini, Sirius, and Altair, let you savor the miracle bath in a supreme private setting. In addition to the ceramic pot bath with bubbling water, where millions of tiny bubbles gently massage your whole body, there are special baths of different styles, such as a large round bath that the whole family can relax in and a bath with a reclined seat, allowing you to luxuriate in 100% natural radon spring water.

Most of what we surveyed never even made it onto this site. This book is a further cut from what did. Our editor bathed in every onsen and sauna in it, and wrote only what they confirmed on the ground.
