About Harataki

"Aizu Higashiyama Onsen Harataki" is a luxurious hot spring inn nestled along the Yukawa River in the historic Aizu Higashiyama Onsen area, and one of the extremely rare inns in Higashiyama Onsen to have its own private hot spring source. The inn's greatest pride is its open-air bath with 100% free-flowing hot spring water from its own source, where freshly gushing natural hot spring water is poured directly into the tub without any alteration. While listening to the murmuring of the clear stream right in front of you, the water sounds of the dynamic natural waterfall "Harataki" that changes with the seasons, and the refreshing river breeze over your whole body, you can enjoy an utterly luxurious bathing experience. In addition, the property is equipped with four different private panoramic baths and guest rooms with open-air baths that let you enjoy the hot spring source all to yourself. From spring through autumn, the elegant outdoor dining area "Kawadoko," where you can savor local gourmet cuisine by the clear stream, also opens.

It is available from 5:00-23:00. Surrounded by the sound of the river, the water from the natural waterfall, and the fresh breeze that rustles the leaves of the trees, you can fully enjoy authentic hot spring water fresh from the source, with nothing added or altered, in a truly special space.

Panoramic Public Bath

A spacious, open public bath with a sense of freedom, overlooking the beautiful gorge panorama of Higashiyama Onsen through large glass windows. Soak deeply to the core of your body in the abundant benefits of the inn's private hot spring source, which gently helps relieve arteriosclerosis, chronic skin conditions, and sensitivity to cold. The changing room and amenities are also clean and fully equipped, allowing for the ultimate relaxation.

Private Reservation Panoramic Bath

Four different private spaces: "Takimino-yu," "Hoshiminoyu" with a reclining bath, "Aomori Hiba no Yu," and "Tsukiminoyu" (fee required, reservation only, 50 minutes per session). You and your companions or family can have complete exclusive use of the tub overflowing with water from the inn's private hot spring source. This luxurious bath lets you quietly enjoy superb free-flowing hot spring water while taking in close-up views of the gorge and natural waterfall.
