Oedo Onsen Monogatari Premium Matsunoi is an onsen resort in Minakami, Gunma Prefecture. In three bathing areas looking out over a Japanese garden spread across 10,000 tsubo (about 33,000 m²) and superb views of Mount Tanigawa, you can enjoy natural onsen water from its own source to your heart’s content. The open-air bath has a genuine barrel sauna, bringing a superb totonou, the deep, settled calm after sauna, with the clear air of the great outdoors. There are also private baths and rooms with their own open-air bath for time to yourselves. It has a spacious indoor bath where you can enjoy the abundant water of its own source to the full, and an airy open-air bath embraced by the natural beauty of the headwaters of the Tone River, with views of Mount Tanigawa. The alkaline simple spring, easy on the skin, is known for its gentle feel. Gaze at the scenery through the large windows of the indoor bath, or feel the Minakami sky and a pleasant breeze with your whole body in the open-air bath, for a luxurious time of relaxation.

It has an airy indoor bath looking out over the beautiful Japanese garden beyond the open-air bath, and an open-air bath full of charm that seems at one with the garden. The indoor bath offers a variety of tubs that immerse the whole body, such as a standing bath and a ceramic urn bath. In the open-air bath you can listen to the murmur of a small stream and savor the skin-beautifying waters along with the tasteful scenery. The men’s and women’s baths swap over, so you can enjoy making your way around a variety of baths.

Guests with tattoos, temporary tattoo stickers, body paint or the like may not use the main bathhouse. However, guests whose tattoos are small enough to be fully covered by two 10 cm x 14 cm (about 4 x 5.5 in) cover stickers may use the main bathhouse on condition that they wear the designated cover stickers. Cover stickers are sold at the front desk for 220 yen each (tax included).
