About Ikaho Onsen Hotel Tenbo

"Ikaho Onsen Hotel Tenbo" is one of Ikaho's largest and oldest hot spring ryokan, located in Shibukawa, Gunma Prefecture. Set on a sprawling 1,000-tsubo site, it draws in both of Ikaho's signature hot springs, Kogane no Yu and Shirogane no Yu, at the same time. Guests can enjoy a variety of baths in the Yumegurino Yakata Tensei and the basement Iwaburo. The main bath area is equipped with a full-fledged dry sauna and an excellent cold plunge bath fed by pristine underground water from the Haruna mountain range, offering Ikaho's finest totonou experience together with soothing outdoor air baths surrounded by greenery.

Hot SpringONSEN

Main Bath Tensei (Kogane no Yu / Shirogane no Yu)

Tensei, the bathhouse of play, boasts an overwhelming scale of 1,000-tsubo. It offers a luxurious indoor bath filled with the classic cloudy waters of Ikaho, Kogane no Yu, in free flow, along with numerous baths where you can enjoy the clear, fresh Shirogane no Yu. Guests can enjoy a supreme hot spring experience by touring a wide range of imaginative bath spaces laid out like a theme park, including the tiered open-air bath, pot baths, a mysterious cave bath, and tourmaline baths.

Basement Iwaburo

A genuine rock bath with a mysterious, immersive atmosphere, built using about 600 tons of the natural monument Sanba Stone. In a wild yet calming space that feels as if you have slipped into a natural cave, you can enjoy the gentle, colorless Shirogane no Yu hot spring. It also features a waterfall bath and a richly atmospheric open-air bath, allowing you to close your eyes quietly under subdued lighting and savor a luxurious time deeply wrapped in Ikaho's famous waters.

Private Family Bath Kakaa Tenga, Karakkaze, and Others

Private baths perfect for families and couples. In addition to the uniquely named baths, inspired by Joshu's famous Kakaa Tenga and Karakkaze, there are five total private bath rooms with charming themes, including Moon, Star, and Sky. You can enjoy the smooth Shirogane no Yu at your own pace in complete privacy, without worrying about others, offering the finest relaxation for families with small children and travelers who want to fully enjoy the hot spring while spending uninterrupted time together.

Using it between rounds through the spacious bath areas enhances circulation even further, adding a refreshing touch to an open and liberating bathing experience.

A calm dry sauna attached to the basement Iwaburo, which is lavishly covered with the natural monument Sanba Stone. Its chic sauna room feels like a hidden retreat for adults, making it easy to reset your everyday fatigue from deep within.

Tensei Main Bath Cold Plunge Bath

A refreshing cold plunge bath placed right next to the dry sauna. It uses rich underground water from the Haruna mountain range, and the water feels astonishingly smooth and gentle on the skin. It quickly cools down your heated body after the sauna and envelops you in a pure, clean sense of freshness. This clean and inviting cold plunge bath is ideal for alternating hot and cold bathing, connecting you to the rest area and the open-air zone.

Basement Iwaburo Cold Plunge Bath

A compact cold plunge bath quietly installed beside the sauna in the basement Iwaburo. It also uses clear natural water from Haruna, and its smooth quality feels pleasant against the skin. Because it has no chlorine-like harshness, you can bathe calmly and comfortably in a tranquil underground space facing the rock walls, quietly sinking in up to your shoulders and enjoying a superb hot-and-cold contrast bath as your body's rhythm gradually settles.
