About Hishino Onsen Tokiwakan
Hishino Onsen Tokiwakan is an onsen inn at the foot of Mount Asama in Komoro, Nagano Prefecture. It is best known for its panoramic open-air bath above the clouds, which you reach by riding the inn’s own mountain railway up from the main building. An infinity open-air bath that melts into the sky and forest, and a cold plunge filled with clear spring water from the Asama watershed, let you leave everyday life behind and become one with a sweeping panorama in a truly exceptional bathing experience. Panoramic open-air bath
A breathtaking open-air bath above the clouds that appears at the top of a steep slope, reached by the inn’s own mountain railway. From the infinity open-air bath made of koyamaki (Japanese umbrella pine), an unobstructed panorama spreads out before you, for an almost mystical soak that feels like floating in the sky. Steeping in these celebrated waters with their long history, you can spend a luxurious stretch of time with the beauty of the sky and forest all to yourself.
Semi-open-air bath in guest rooms
A private semi-open-air bath in the maisonette-style guest rooms. A ceramic tub of your own waits on the lower level of the spacious room, so you can enjoy a special soak just for yourselves without worrying about anyone watching. The changing area has its own massage chair too, so after your bath you can carry straight on into a deeply relaxing time.

Set beside the panoramic open-air bath, the cold plunge is filled with clear natural water from the Asama watershed. Its pleasant chill feels wonderfully refreshing as the cold pulls your onsen-warmed body taut.
