About Takimikan

"Takimikan" is a hot spring ryokan in Obanazawa City, Yamagata Prefecture. Located on the hill overlooking Ginzan Onsen, its biggest attraction is the scenic open-air bath with a view of Shirogane Falls below. The indoor bath has an open feel, with gentle light streaming in through large windows, and the sulfur-rich natural hot spring warms you from the core. The annex also features a private bath available 24 hours a day. After bathing, guests can enjoy freshly ground and freshly made hand-pulled soba, a local specialty made with buckwheat flour from Obanazawa, as well as creative Japanese cuisine prepared with an abundance of seasonal local ingredients.

Large bath

A scenic open-air bath with a superb location overlooking Shirogane Falls below, and an open indoor bath with gentle sunlight streaming in through large windows. The sulfur-rich hot spring warms you from the core, and its comforting warmth lingers even after you leave the bath. A rotating men-and-women schedule by time of day is in place, allowing guests to enjoy the abundant nature of Ginzan from baths with different atmospheres. After bathing, you can relax in the calm Taisho Roman atmosphere while feeling the pleasant breeze.

Private bath

A private bath in the annex that offers a strong sense of privacy. A luxurious space where you can enjoy Ginzan's famous hot spring with someone special, without any concerns. Available 24 hours a day except during cleaning time, it lets you soak leisurely while taking in the quiet mountains of Ginzan. With a gentle touch on the skin, it offers a private bathing experience that softly eases away your daily fatigue.
