"Tateshina Grand Hotel Takinoyu" is a hot spring hotel in the highlands of Chino City, Nagano Prefecture. It offers a wide variety of baths, including the "mountain stream open-air bath," which looks out over the murmuring Takinoyu River up close, and the "garden large bath," which commands a dynamic view of a waterfall. Guests can enjoy the mineral-rich "beautiful skin bath" with abundant metasilicic acid through two spring qualities: simple hot spring water and bicarbonate spring water. Highlights also include an authentic dry sauna with windows overlooking the outside, a mist sauna filled with soothing moisture, outdoor relaxation facing the mountain stream, and newly renovated premium private baths.
A hot spring sourced from Takinoyu Onsen Motoyu. It contains abundant metasilicic acid, a skin-beautifying component, and is known as a "beautiful skin bath" thanks to its very gentle feel on the skin. You can enjoy luxurious bathing in the spacious indoor bath and the diverse range of baths in the Garden Large Bath.
An open-air bath sourced from Takinoyu Nozeburo. Located so close to the mountain stream that the murmuring of the Takinoyu River reaches your ears, it lets you soak in the hot spring while experiencing Tateshina's rich nature with all five senses. Its appeal lies in the smooth, skin-softening feel unique to bicarbonate spring water.
Renovated in May 2026, this private bath has evolved into a more refined and private space. The bathing time has been extended to 90 minutes, allowing you to relax and enjoy a private hot spring at your own pace without watching the clock. It also comes fully equipped with natural skincare amenities from Hanamitsuren.
An authentic dry sauna installed in the mountain stream open-air bath area, Takiiwa no Yu. A large glass window is set at the front-right of the sauna room, allowing you to look out over Tateshina's abundant nature and the mountain stream flowing below while remaining indoors. The humidity is moderate, and the heat is mild enough to be easy on the body, allowing you to work up a pleasant sweat.
A mist sauna available in the Garden Large Bath, Iwa no Yu, and the mountain stream open-air bath, Hiyori no Yu. Fine, warm mist gently fills the room, making breathing easier while slowly warming your body from the inside. Recommended for people who do not like high-temperature saunas, or for those who want to refresh while moisturizing their skin.
A compact, one-person cold plunge bath installed in the mountain stream open-air bath area. Perfect for tightening and cooling down the body after a good session in the sauna. In the nearby open-air area, you can enjoy an exquisite outdoor relaxation session while listening to the soothing murmur of the Takinoyu River.
