About Matsushima Ichinobo

Matsushima Ichinobo is an all-inclusive onsen resort in Matsushima, Miyagi District, Miyagi Prefecture. It faces Matsushima Bay, one of the Three Views of Japan, and every room looks out to sea. Its water is Matsushima onsen from the Taiko Tensen source, a silky alkaline simple spring known as a bath for beautiful skin, which fills the panoramic open-air bath on the top floor and the indoor bath of the main bathhouse. At Niwaga SPA on the ground floor, couples can go in together wearing dedicated spa wear to share an automatic löyly sauna and a rock-salt warm-stone room, then cool down on the Yusuzumi terrace in the sea breeze. With a buffet cooked to order and a lounge overlooking the sea, it is a grown-up retreat where you spend your stay steeped in good food and bathing.

The indoor bath of the main bathhouse, open whatever the weather. The alkaline simple spring water of Matsushima onsen wraps the body in a silky feel and leaves your skin smooth and moist afterward. Beyond the windows spreads the greenery of the garden, and once you are warmed through you can move on to the sauna or the warm-stone room. The water is gentle, so your skin stays soft even after a long soak.
