An open-air bath above the clouds at 1,280 meters above sea level, and an exceptional spring-water bath from Tokachidake

Hokkaido Kamifurano Town

"Tokachidake Onsen Yumoto Ryounkaku" is a hot spring inn above the clouds, located at the highest elevation in Hokkaido. In the large bath, which offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Tokachidake mountain range, you can fully enjoy two distinctive in-house hot spring sources with 100% free-flowing spring water: a brownish tea-colored bath rich in iron and an acidic spring. The large bath area also features a retro, tranquil far-infrared sauna. After the sauna, an exquisite cold bath filled with natural spring water drawn directly from the clear mountains of Tokachidake will refresh both body and mind, leading you into an outdoor bath under the clouds.

Flow-through

Two proudly 100% free-flowing spring sources gush from an elevation of 1,280m above sea level. One is a "iron-sulfate spring" that turns a beautiful brownish tea color when exposed to air, with a distinct iron aroma that warms you all the way to the core. The other is an "acidic spring" with a lemon-like tang, also known as "the acidic bath." In winter, a snow-viewing bath with snow falling heavily, in autumn with brilliant foliage, and in an elevated bath overlooking an unobstructed panorama, the scenery is truly one of the world’s great views.
