Tokachidake Onsen
TypeNatural Hot Spring
Two proudly 100% free-flowing spring sources gush from an elevation of 1,280m above sea level. One is a "iron-sulfate spring" that turns a beautiful brownish tea color when exposed to air, with a distinct iron aroma that warms you all the way to the core. The other is an "acidic spring" with a lemon-like tang, also known as "the acidic bath." In winter, a snow-viewing bath with snow falling heavily, in autumn with brilliant foliage, and in an elevated bath overlooking an unobstructed panorama, the scenery is truly one of the world’s great views.
