About Echizen Awara Onsen Tsuruya

"Echizen Awara Onsen Tsuruya" is a long-established onsen ryokan in Awara City, Fukui Prefecture, founded in 1884. This refined adults-only inn, rich in the warmth of wood, was crafted by a master Sukiya-style carpenter. It owns three natural springs on its grounds and offers luxurious true gensen kakenagashi bathing with absolutely no dilution, reheating, or circulation. From the large public baths Fukunoyu and Ashinoyu to the garden open-air bath, atmospheric private baths, and even the open-air baths in the guest rooms, you can soak in exceptional hot water throughout the property. In the garden footbath area, you can also enjoy a free experience of making onsen eggs.

Large Public Bath Awara Onsen

A natural hot spring drawn directly from three on-site springs. Proudly offering fresh 100% gensen kakenagashi bathing with absolutely no circulation, dilution, or reheating, the baths overflow with abundance. The spring quality is a chloride spring, known for excellent heat retention and moisturizing effects. The water feels extremely soft, and you can feel warmth reaching deep into your body.
