About Gekkoju Yufuin
Gekkoju Yufuin is a villa-style onsen inn in Yufu, Oita Prefecture, with just five detached villas. Every room is a suite of more than 130 m² (1,400 sq ft), and each refined space is furnished by the world-renowned brand Cassina. Every villa has its own in-room bath filled with Yufuin’s natural onsen water, rich in metasilicic acid and known as a “beauty bath,” along with a private sauna where you can work up a sweat whenever you like. Alongside cuisine that blends Japanese and French cooking, you can enjoy a resort experience that satisfies all five senses, in a quiet setting in harmony with nature, from the views of Mount Yufu to the murmur of a nearby stream.

A spacious onsen bath inside each villa. From check-in to check-out, your party alone has Yufuin’s natural onsen water, rich in metasilicic acid and known as a “beauty bath,” all to yourselves. [In-room semi-open-air baths] Kohaku hinoki bath and stone bath
Found only in the Kohaku villa: an indoor bath of hinoki and a semi-open-air stone bath. It is a luxurious setup where you can move freely between the two, the indoor bath wrapped in the fresh scent of wood and the stone bath where you feel Yufuin’s clear air on your skin. The semi-open-air stone bath also lets you enjoy cooling off in the open air, letting the natural breeze slowly settle a body warmed by the sauna, for a private retreat you won’t find anywhere else.

A private sauna in every room. With no one else around, you can enjoy a space all your own as often as you like, whenever you like.
