About Canal Resort

"Canal Resort" is a large-scale bathing complex in Nakagawa Ward, Nagoya. Its Finnish-style löyly sauna, among the largest in Japan, features aromatic automatic löyly every 15 minutes, delivering an overwhelming wave of heat. The cold plunge baths are packed with remarkable features, including the rare submergable carbonated cold bath and the 6 m-long swimable cold bath. In the open-air area, a variety of baths use natural hot spring water from Tamagawa Onsen, letting you enjoy a resort atmosphere while staying in the city.

Tamagawa Natural Hot Spring

A sodium-chloride hot spring spread across the open-air area. It is a therapeutic spring that is effective for neuralgia, muscle pain, and recovery from fatigue, gently warming you from the core of your body. Baths such as the flowing bath and the beauty-bubble hot spring tub are scattered throughout the area, all using natural hot spring water generously, so you can fully enjoy an exquisite bath while feeling the pleasant outdoor air. It is gentle on the skin, and its warming effect after bathing is excellent.

High-temperature Finnish-style löyly sauna

A stadium-style sauna room with one of the largest capacities in Japan. There are 4 stoves in the men's bath and 3 in the women's bath, and powerful automatic löyly is activated every 15 minutes. The strong waves of heat, carried on the aroma of essential oils, encourage deep sweating in a short time. With its spacious seating, you can enjoy the full charm of an authentic Finnish sauna from any spot you choose.

Salt sauna

A medium-temperature sauna where you apply mineral-rich salt to your body and relax in the steam. The gently falling steam moisturizes the skin, while the salt's osmotic effect washes away old dead skin cells and pore impurities. Even if you are not fond of high-temperature saunas, you can relax here at your own pace, and after bathing you will feel the remarkable skin-smoothing effect of this soothing space.

Submergable carbonated cold bath

A rare cold bath with a depth of 2 m in the men's bath area and 1.85 m in the women's bath area, allowing you to submerge completely. Carbon dioxide is dissolved into extremely cold water of around 10°C, giving you a stunningly refreshing full-body cooling experience. By diving deep, you can feel it cooling you evenly from head to toe, a truly one-of-a-kind sensation. It instantly resets the heat from the sauna and is a signature feature of Canal Resort.

02COLD BATH

Swimmable cold bath

Men'sWomen's

A relaxing cold bath with the feel of a mini pool, boasting a total length of 6 m. It is equipped with cooling jets, so you can enjoy a luxurious cooldown while letting yourself go with the current. You can stretch out your arms and legs and swim freely, which makes it feel open and unconfined. With its moderate temperature, it is ideal for gradually calming your overheated body.
