About Kashima Yumoto Suisyun
Kashima Yumoto Suisyun is a day-use onsen bathhouse in Kashima, Kumamoto Prefecture. Its highlight is a rock bath where you can savor rich therapeutic spring water rising from deep beneath Kumamoto, fed straight from the source, never recirculated. The men’s bath has a meditation sauna where you pour your own löyly, the women’s bath a moisturizing salt sauna, and both have a powerful sauna with automatic löyly. After a bracing chill in the deep cold plunge, cooling off in the open air in the outdoor area lined with Adirondack chairs is pure bliss. Natural Onsen (Main Bathhouse)
An open-air rock bath where you can savor the rich Hi-no-Kuni Bisho-no-Yu, rising from ancient strata and generously fed straight from the source, never recirculated. Formed from ancient seawater that became fossil water, it is rich in minerals and prized for how well it holds warmth, heating you to the core. Inside the main bathhouse there is a wide variety of baths to make your way around to your heart’s content: a hypertonic carbonated bath with carbon dioxide dissolved into the natural onsen water, a milky bath where fine bubbles wrap the skin, a circuit bath that kneads the body with varied currents, and a reclining bath and ceramic urn baths for a leisurely soak.

Löyly Sauna
An authentic high-temperature sauna with a devoted following among sauna lovers. Far-infrared heat penetrates deep into the skin, and the powerful heat draws out sweat in no time. During the regular automatic löyly, aroma water is poured over the heated sauna stones, filling the room with intense steam rich in negative ions. The singular exhilaration of the surging waves of heat is exceptional, bringing deep refreshment.
Meditation Sauna
Tucked away only in the men’s bath, a sauna where you pour your own löyly. In a calm space wrapped in silence, with no TV or background music, you can spend a mindful moment attending to your own body and mind. Pour water over the sauna stones at your own pace, and the soft rising steam and pleasant heat gently envelop your whole body. With a strong sense of privacy, it is ideal when you want to step away from the bustle and savor the heat slowly.
Moisture Salt Sauna
A salt sauna in the women’s bath, where fine steam flows out continuously. Kept at a mild heat, it is comfortable even for beginners, with no feeling of stuffiness. As a veil of moisture wraps the whole body, placing salt on your skin and gently rubbing it removes old skin cells and leaves your skin smooth and silky. With steam and salt working together, it is a superbly relaxing sauna that polishes your beauty inside and out.

Cold Plunge
A crisp cold plunge that instantly cools a body flushed from the sauna. It is deep enough to immerse yourself up to the shoulders and cool the whole body evenly. Among the largest in Kumamoto in size, the warm-stone area has several rooms of different stones, including a mine-cart-style medicinal-stone sauna, rock salt, ocher and agate. You use it in the wear provided, and the far-infrared rays given off by natural minerals warm you gently to the core and bring on a pleasant sweat. There are also aroma löyly events where you bathe in waves of heat, and a cooling room that chills the body quickly.
