Futago no Yu is a day-use hot spring facility located at the roadside station Joubon no Sato in Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture. It features the only iron chloride spring in the prefecture, which warms the body from the core with its iron and salt content, making it difficult to catch a chill. After sweating in the sauna, the cold plunge bath, using the source water as is, provides a refreshing tightening effect. There are two types of baths, the cypress 'Sakura' and the stone 'Kashiwa', which alternate weekly between men and women, allowing you to enjoy different bathing experiences. The only iron chloride spring in Miyagi Prefecture. Known for its rich iron and salt content, the salt film envelops the skin, providing high heat retention. Bathing warms the body from the core, with warmth lasting long after. The tea-brown colored water is rich in iron, expected to be effective for skin and gynecological diseases. There are two bath areas: 'Sakura' with a large cypress bath and open-air bath, and 'Kashiwa' with a large stone bath and open-air bath, alternating weekly between men and women. Each offers a different ambiance, allowing you to enjoy the warmth of cypress and the solidity of stone. Sweat thoroughly in the dry sauna. The convection-style stove heats the room evenly, promoting deep perspiration. The space accommodates about 8 people, allowing you to quietly reflect and warm your body to the core.
Source Cold Plunge Bath
A luxurious cold plunge bath using the source water (16.3°C) as is. The cold iron chloride spring gently tightens the body heated by the sauna. Unlike typical tap water cold baths, it features a soft texture with hot spring minerals. The iron and salt content envelops the skin, allowing you to cool down while feeling the benefits of the hot spring. It is a rare source-flowing cold plunge bath nationwide.
