Shimoda Onsen
TypeNatural Hot Spring
The 7th-floor observation public baths, Umiharano-yu and Nagisano-yu, look out over a vast panoramic view of Shimoda Bay. In addition to the indoor baths clad in marble and granite, there is an atmospheric open-air observation bath lined with Izu stone. Filled with mildly alkaline simple hot spring water that is very gentle on the skin and ideal for long, leisurely soaks, it is drawn through a system of added water, heating, and circulation filtration. In a sense of unity that feels as if you are connected to the sea, it warms you to the core and gently relieves the fatigue of travel.
