Bathhouse FUROBAKKA
Located in Kurobe City, Toyama Prefecture, this dream log sauna facility seems to encapsulate all of my ideals. The "Anagura Sauna," resembling a cave, is illuminated only by the flames of a wood stove in a pitch-dark room, inviting you into a meditative state focused solely on the sound and scent of the wood. In the "Yamagoya Sauna" made of domestic cypress, you can enjoy self-löyly multiple times, being soothed by the lush green scenery. The famous 13°C cold plunge bath uses 560 liters per minute of Kurobe's underground water, which is mellow and drinkable. The experience was so pleasant that I was left in a daze, unable to move for 30 minutes in the relaxation room. It is the ultimate sauna that makes you want to spend your last days here.

Spa Alps
Located in Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture, this is the holy land of Hokuriku saunas. I enjoyed 8 sets in one day. Despite the high temperature setting of 93°C, the heat is gentle and not suffocating at all. The custom-made giant sauna stove and regular automatic löyly maintain a comfortable humidity. The 17°C cold plunge bath, using 100% natural water from the Northern Alps, is enveloping and drinkable. I enjoyed 4 sets in the morning, filled my stomach with an Alps set meal and ginger pork, and took a nap. In the evening, I entered another 4 sets and was completely relaxed. Open 24 hours with exquisite meals and unlimited manga, it's a facility you'll want to stay in forever.

Sauna Talo Toyama
Nestled in a residential area of Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture, this is a hidden sauna facility. The "Pieni Sauna," meaning "small" in Finnish, offers a hut-like space where you can enjoy self-löyly with a Misa sauna stove. It features two types of saunas, including a 90°C Metos low-key sauna. The 16°C cold plunge bath, with 100% underground water flowing constantly, has a soft water quality and is always overflowing, boasting excellent water quality. Open from 6 AM to midnight, you can enjoy both morning and night saunas. With good access from Toyama Station, it is an ideal base for a Hokuriku sauna trip.
