All facilities listed on this site have been personally visited and experienced by the operator. All photos and reviews are original. We carefully select and introduce only the facilities that were truly exceptional.
Yuya FUROBAKKA
Located in Kurobe City, Toyama Prefecture, this dream sauna facility embodies all my ideals. The cave-like 'Anagura Sauna' is illuminated only by the flames of a wood stove in a pitch-dark room, inviting meditation by focusing solely on the sound and scent of the wood. In the 'Yamagoya Sauna' made of domestic cypress, you can enjoy self-löyly multiple times while being soothed by the lush greenery. The 13°C famous water bath, using 560 liters per minute of Kurobe's underground water, is mild and drinkable. The experience was so pleasant that I was left in a daze and couldn't move for 30 minutes in the relaxation room. It is the ultimate sauna that makes you want to spend the last moments of your life here.

Osaka Sauna DESSE
Located in Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, this facility is worthy of being called a sauna theme park, equipped with six types of saunas. The river sauna allows you to slide directly into the cold plunge bath from indoors and swim out to the outdoor water surface, an astonishing design. The 93°C intensely hot steam 'Forest Sauna' reaches its limit in 5 minutes, and the contrast with the 12°C cold plunge bath is exquisite. In the tatami-floored tea room sauna, you can enjoy 'tea löyly' with tea dripping from a teapot. The 'Water Surface Sauna' reflects the water surface on the ceiling, and the 'Hanare Sauna' offers self-löyly, while the garden sauna adds unique character. The four cold plunge baths at 8°C, 12°C, 15°C, and 16°C are perfect, providing a top-notch sauna experience that stimulates all five senses in Osaka's Shinsaibashi.

Spa Alps
Located in Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture, this is the sacred site of Hokuriku saunas. On this day, I enjoyed eight sets in one day. Despite the high temperature setting of 93°C, the heat is gentle and not suffocating at all. A custom-made large sauna stove and regular automatic löyly maintain comfortable humidity. The 17°C cold plunge bath using 100% of Japan's highest-grade Northern Alps natural water envelops you with its softness and is drinkable. I enjoyed four sets in the morning, satisfied my stomach with an Alps set meal and ginger pork, and took a nap. In the evening, I entered another four sets and was completely relaxed. Open 24 hours, with exquisite food and unlimited manga reading, it's a place you want to stay forever.

Located in Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture, this is the best morning bath facility, open from 6 AM. It's a Showa retro sauna with a huge sauna stove stacked with about 250 kg of stones and herbs installed, filling the room with the scent of herbs through löyly steam. The 16°C cold plunge bath, using underground water from the Hakusan mountain range, has a melting texture and is drinkable. The 38°C natural hot spring, 100% sourced, offers the ultimate relaxation temperature, with some people seen dozing off in the bath. Watching 'Mezamashi TV' while enjoying the morning sauna provides a fresh experience, making it a perfect final stop on a Hokuriku sauna journey.

After cooling down in the 13°C cold plunge bath, head to the bonfire area. The scent and sound of the bonfire, along with natural sounds like birds chirping and the wind, stimulate all five senses. The largest open-air bath in Kansai offers sodium-calcium chloride spring water, keeping your body warm long after bathing. It's a facility where you can spend time deeply relaxing in a quiet mountain setting.
