Kobe Sauna & Spa

Kobe Sauna & Spa

A long-established sauna in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, that I've been visiting since high school. The Finnish sauna, enveloped in the scent of kelo wood and vihta imported directly from Finland, offers an exquisite experience in a meditative space with no TV or background music. The combination of the 11.7°C cold plunge bath and outdoor relaxation is perfect. I visited during Typhoon No. 18 with a 24-hour unlimited sauna stay plan, enjoying an outdoor bath in the typhoon rain at night and three sauna sessions in the early morning at 4:30 AM when it was empty. The facility offers a sense of security like a home sauna, with the natural hot spring "Kami no Yu," exquisite ginger pork and fried chicken, and naps in the reclining room.

Arima Kaido Onsen Suzuran no Yu

Arima Kaido Onsen Suzuran no Yu

An Arima-type hot spring facility in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, offering natural hot spring water directly from the source. The 17°C cold plunge bath, blended with the renowned "Miya Water," is superb, providing a soft, enveloping sensation. You can perform self-löyly in the Finnish sauna with the scent of vihta, and the outdoor relaxation in a garden created in the forest allows you to become one with nature. Experience true nature in the nude, listen to the wind, insect calls, and water sounds, and smell the earth and wood. As you sharpen your senses, the fatigue and distractions accumulated in daily life gradually disappear. This exceptional facility, which offers an addictive experience, continues to impress on a second visit.

ZIKKAI SPA

ZIKKAI SPA

A natural hot spring facility surrounded by nature in Miki City, Hyogo Prefecture. It features two types of saunas: the 90°C "Netsufugama" equipped with a Sawo-made iki stove, and the 60°C "Ganetsugama," where you can enjoy applying salt to your skin. After cooling down in the 13°C cold plunge bath, head to the bonfire area. The scent and sound of the bonfire, along with natural sounds like birdsong and the wind, stimulate the senses. The largest open-air bath in Kansai offers a sodium-calcium chloride spring directly from the source, keeping your body warm long after bathing. It's a facility where you can spend time deeply relaxing in a quiet mountain setting.

Arima Onsen Taiko no Yu

Arima Onsen Taiko no Yu

Located in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, this luxurious facility allows you to enjoy Japan's finest Arima Onsen, "Kinsen" and "Ginsen," at the same time. On this day, I felt like soaking leisurely in the hot springs. The rich hot spring minerals alone raise your pulse like a sauna, and the 18°C cold plunge bath with natural spring water feels so smooth that you can soak in it forever. The open-air bath under the morning sunlight is exceptional, and even without a sauna, the hot springs alone increase blood flow and provide a refreshing sensation. The exquisite sushi and Japanese cuisine at 'Hanajuraku' after the hot spring were also exceptional. If you're going to soak, you want to experience Japan's finest hot springs. This is a facility that makes you feel that way.

Safi Spa Maiko

Safi Spa Maiko

Located in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, this ultimate facility was produced by the sauna king, Hiroshi Ota. It features two types of saunas: the "Mirumiru" with a loft where you can lie down, and the "Mokumoku" for meditation in the dark. The deep cold plunge baths at 17°C and 9°C, equipped with a vibra and cross counter, and the waterfall function from above, provide a full-on experience from five directions. Watching fireworks projections while achieving totonou is like heaven itself. The golden route of sauna → cold plunge bath → cold plunge bath left me completely relaxed. After completing three sets, I couldn't move for a while. It wasn't because it was painful, but because it felt too good to move.
